Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update (February 2023)

Bodsat Prep Students and Families,

Official SAT and ACT test availability seems to continue to be impacted. We suggest registering sooner rather than later so that you have more options close to home. Throughout the pandemic ACT test offerings seem to have been more reliable than SAT tests in the California Bay Area, and fewer tests seem to have been canceled in less populated areas than in their more populated counterparts. As recently as November 2022, the College Board canceled the SAT at a site within a few weeks of the test.

If you are impacted by a change of test date, please take a relaxing breath. We at Bodsat Prep have had years of experience helping students who have had to reschedule their testing for one reason or another, and moving to another test date does not pose a problem for students with Bodsat Prep test preparation. Our methods are educationally sound, so most students will want to keep up light practice (or even take a little breather) depending on the alternate test date's proximity to the original. Once the new test date is a few weeks away, the student will be able to run another Bodsat Prep cycle of strategy-practice-Mock test-analysis and be in good shape for the test.

For the latest information on the ACT including the ability to sign up to be notified when the next registrations for fall tests open check out this link: ACT.

For the latest from the College Board, follow this link: PSAT, SAT, and AP Tests.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the most reliable test administrations are those offered by students' own high schools followed by test administrations in less populated areas and ones at facilities that are not high schools. For example, students have been able to take ACTs at conference centers and hotels. We suggest calling the venue directly to ask whether or not certain tests are likely to happen.

To use a familiar phrase, we are all in this together. The Bodsat Team will continue to support our private program students virtually (Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, etc.). Our seminars will continue to be held in secure Zoom rooms. (Remember, we can offer and match scholarships in our seminars.) Furthermore, we are here to help whether with test planning, test preparation, or other academic or school-related endeavors. Even if you only need advice or a voice of calm, please don't hesitate to call; we truly are willing to help in any way we can.

We will continue to do our best to keep this page up to date.

Sincerely,
Megan deVries & Justin Sigars
